Back in September, restauranteur Ed Rudisell pulled the plug on Black Market citing the deficiencies with PPP and having to reduce the restaurant to a limited staff — leaving a deep hole on Mass Ave.
Soon, the prime location on the end of the strip, will welcome its new tenant — BODHI, a Thai bistro specializing in craft cocktails.
BODHI has been in development for quite a while, originally planning to open in the Herron-Morton neighborhood just across from Tinker Street early last year. Those plans ultimately fell through, but the former Black Market location presented a great opportunity.
They expect hours to be 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM on Monday through Friday and 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday when BODHI opens in mid-March.
Once bar seating resumes later this year, they’d like to stay open later with a reduced bar-only menu.
“Typically the bar program at most Thai restaurants is an after thought but we want to be considered more as a cocktail bar that happens to have great Thai food,” said co-owner Taelor Carmine.
BODHI has been testing a variety of cocktails and will also have a decent beer menu.
Although the food menu has not yet released, diners can expect a steak salad known as yum nua, massaman curry, coconut chicken soup and pad Thai among a variety of popular Thai dishes.
Don’t expect a large menu. BODHI will have a smaller seasonally rotating menu that will keep your taste buds coming back for more.
